Richard Burton, who died in 1984, was the finest stage and screen actor Wales has ever known. This moving biographical film tells the story of Burton’s early life as the son of a coal miner, and his discovery by school teacher, Philip Burton. The star studded cast is headed by Toby Jones (Mr Bates vs the Post Office) as the teacher, Lesley Manville (Slow Horses, The Crown, Mum) as his landlady and Harry Lawtrey as the young Richard Burton. A cinematic treat.
